Reviewed By Erin Nicole Cochran for Readers' FavoriteWhere Is My Little Crocodile? is a charming, fun-filled children's book by author Ingo Blum and illustrated by Antonio Pahetti. The premise is a young crocodile who can't be found and the narrator, who is one of the parents of said little crocodile, is searching for him in a number of places that might be odd to find a crocodile in, but which create a comical atmosphere for old and young alike. Although the book is only twenty-six pages, it does a lot in that small amount of space. Through the illustrations we can get a sense of this world and it feels vivid and colorful. The tone of the narration is very easy to grasp and many children would be able to enjoy it.One of my favorite parts of Where Is My Little Crocodile? by author Ingo Blum and illustrator Antonio Pahetti is the section at the very end where the story book doubles as a coloring book as well. I think that more children's books should double as a coloring book so that people who may not be able to afford many things for their children will be able to have a gift that gets their children to be active in pursuit of art. I feel that this delightful book would be great for all ages and that even adults would enjoy it as well. It calls to mind one of my own favorite childhood books, Are You My Mother? And anything that can remind me of that is a great book indeed!

I lost my original set of the 16 books of this series when I moved to another state. I was heart-broken to say the least. Thanks to the sellers on Amazon I have replaced every book atvery reasonable prices.Thank you Tim LaHaye & Jerry Jenkins for bringing this series to us. I have read several ofyour books in this series at least three times. With each reading one sees more and more andunderstands so much more of what the Gospels are teaching us. I also have their book"Are We Living In End Times"......this book may have been published in 2000... but for the 27 %of the Gospels that we don't spend time to study about...it's astonishing how much of this bookreflects the world today in 2013. A MUST READ ALSO to have in conjunction with the Left Behind Series.
This book from the Left Behind series was a bit draggy compared to the first four. It was still good, but I found Ray a bit out of character, his rage just didn't seem to fit my image of him. Other than thosse two things, the story line was very good and by the end of the book left you wanting more. I'm also getting a bit frustrated with the character Chaim, feel that his obstinance is getting dragged out a bit too long and just doesn't strike me as realistic. However, I loved the visualization of the horses and riders and the destruction they wreak. All in all, a good read, and looking forward to the next in the series.
Having just finished the 6th book in the "Left Behind" series, I thought overall this installment was pretty decent. LaHaye & Jenkins create motives for enough characters to keep you guessing right up to the last page who will be the Antichrist's killer, and even then they leave it with an almost soap opera like cliff hanger.My only beef with this book is something that's just problematic in a serialized novel format:I don't honestly believe the main characters are in danger of dying before the last book. That means a bunch of peripheral characters are brought in for a scene or two, and then die, or are killed. Characters it's hard to have much attachment to.However, I enjoyed this "chapter" in the series much more than the last, and if you're a fan of the book you won't be disappointed.
Assassins starts off slow just like the all the other Left Behind books. I find that the first 200 pages is just filler. The interesting part of the first half, is the rising of the horde of 200 million demonic horsemen. They slay a third of the population which leaves only half of the world's original population. The Tribulation Force tries hard to keep themselves unrevealed to the Global Community as they also have to deal with each other. As Nicolae prepares for a "global party," Rayford is feeling tremendous rage against all the appose the word of God. I went straight through the last 100 pages in a few hours. As Nicloae's party in Jerusalem starts, the book really begins, and it is hard to put down.
This book is certainly as good as the first book Left Behind. You simply can not turn the pages quickly enough during the last 50 pages. Of great concern was that the book was going to end too soon thus leaving the reader feeling taken advantage of - "cliffhanger to make you buy even more books."Fortunately there was enough content in this book to make it enjoyable even though it did turn into a cliffhanger which requires the reader to purchase the next book. It is unfortunate that we must wait another 6, or more, months to read the next in this series.I realize the need to do this since it increases profits - but for those who love this series, myself included, it is a painful wait.I enjoyed seeing more scripture from Revelation in this book and thought the author's views on the middle chapters were insightful.To any that might have been disappointed in book 4, which I was, this will wet your appetite for the series again, as did the 5th book.
The Left Behind series is one of the best I've read in a long time. I am now on book 10, and there aren't too many series that will hold my attention like this. Before you know it, you are several chapters later.Fun read!
I've read and recommended this series to a number of friends since the first book came out. However, Apollyon and Assassins do not begin to equate in quality with the initial books. I have read other reviews saying the "cash cow" has come into play here and I regret that I must agree. With the upcoming movie of "Left Behind", I felt that the authors were writing Assassins more as a screenplay than a novel. Please Mr. Jenkins and Mr. LaHaye, return to your prior quality writing. The movie rights will take care of themselves as will the screenplay! Leave the "who-dun-it" theatrics out because it just cheapens an otherwise invaluable series of books.
Wonderful continuation in the left behind series. A must read. Start from the Left Behind, No. 1 and make sure to read all the books in the series. They are very enlightening, each time you read them, you will find something that you might have missed in the last reading. I have highlighted all the quotes from the Bible and checked them with my own Bible. Very good

It is not just a book on highly 'realistic' landscape painting in acrylics, rather it is an application of analytical thinking about painting to the particular problems of landscape. In a market saturated by fluffy and useless how-to books, this dense and meaty offering is one of the few that stand out as a must-have for anyone who is serious about representational painting.The section on composition is one of the most complete overviews of the subject I have seen to date; it includes topics such as unity and variety, the effects of 3-D illusion on composition (or vice-versa), the dynamics of the rectangle, left-right 'reading', and some deep analysis of Chard's own paintings. I have found this book to be an excellent reference for those artists, such as myself, who have long used acrylics but have tried dabbling with watercolors, but with not as much success. Daniel Chard gives a wonderful approach to using acrylics transparently and achieving a watercolor-type effect - without the drawbacks of either medium. His section and examples of brushwork (and finger techniques) alone were worth the price of the book. Excellent composition material is a bonus.

My three year old is both terrified and obsessed with this story! Bill Peet is one of my all time favorites, and slowly but surely I am trying to collect them all. I bought this one for my 8 year old, but it is the little guys who loves it. Something about that Owl-Eyed Ogre.....he is totally captivated. He is the type of child to ask me to read book after book, but rarely the same one again right away, but this one he BEGS me to read again as soon as it is done. He covers his eyes with his blankey when the scary parts come up, peeking just enough. I can't help myself from emphasizing the really dramatic parts, just to really get him going! Bill Peet is obviously a gifted man who understands children and writes books that are easy and fun to read. I wonder if he read his books out loud before finalizing them?? They are all so well written, whether in rhyme or not(this one is not), and have such a natural flow to them. They are easy to get into, and just such a pleasure to read. After refusing to read this one out loud AGAIN last night, my son picked out a new popular book, "Dragons Love Tacos," which I really don't care for to begin with, but as a follow up to Peet's Clyde, it really looked and sounded lame and downright pathetic! It really made me appreciate this book even more! There are plenty of cute, catchy popular new books on the market, and don't get me wrong we do have and love many of them, but there is something about a classic tale like this, moral and eloquent as all Peet's books are, full of magic and wonder. Like a modern but timeless fairytale....complete with silly sound effects:)
Bill Peet is one of my favorite kids book authors. I read these as a kid, got them for my kids, nieces and nephews and have put away a set for for my grandchildren someday. The stories and characters are always well designed and draw kids in. The illustrations are bright and colorful while still being somewhat simplistic giving them a lovable cartoon appearance. The stories have great moral and life lessons told in a fun way. These stories have stood the test of time and have been loved by many in my family
as a grandmother, i have owned this book - now three times. my children loved it so much that my son took it to college with him to always feel the happiness we had when reading it together. i still own a copy and just bought a book for my grandson. i have a picture on my wall of my daughter reading it to my grandson. he frequently says :kerpuffle when things go the way he wants them to. it is a wonderful story of overcoming things that you may not know you can do and then find out then you certainly can! great fantasy and learning book!
Sir Galavant, the dim-witted noodle head (his words, not mine), is so gung-ho on finding a horrible ogre to defeat, that when he does find one he races in without a thought. Clyde, his noble and also fearful steed, sees the foolishness in this but won’t be able to do a thing about it unless he can work up the courage and act… or at least just act. Kids may learn, in this story, that behaving bravely is maybe just about as good as being brave. All my kids love this story and I don’t mind reading it, for the lesson and for the fun.
Bill Peet has been a family favorite author since 1978. I read them to my son in the 70's. Bought every one I could find for my grandchildren, and now am purchasing for that same son's newly arrived twin boys. I recently asked my first three grandchildren if they still had their Bill Peet books and discovered that they plan to NEVER (said emphatically) get rid of them. In addition, they are still read because they take them on babysitting jobs to read to their charges who also LOVE them.
This is a great story about facing one's fears and being brave for the sake of a friend. It's one of my 7-year-old grandson's favorites. The illustrations are cute, too.
My grandsons love hearing this story read to them every time they visit. Good lesson on having courage even when you're not feelin' it.
This was perhaps my favourite book before third grade, and it is my son's first pick also. I hope more kids get to read it. Bill Peet books all typically have a good morale built into clever verbiage.
