Wing does an admirable job of describing a complex situation, making it understandable for a young audience and conveying the amount of time and effort required of Kennedy and many others to achieve the ultimate victory. The illustrations—rendered in watercolor, gouache, and ink, with spot colors and hand lettering added digitally—employ a variety of perspectives that give the book a cinematic quality. Whether using extreme close-ups, large-scale landscapes, or multi-illustration pages suggesting the passage of time, the visuals are energetic and multidimensional. In an artistic choice that may be puzzling to readers, Kennedy and other female characters often have sticklike legs that end in points rather than feet, while male figures are presented proportionally. Even the cover image portrays Kennedy more as a paper doll than human, which is strange in a book about a powerful woman who used her influence for the greater good. This is children's literature at its best! Wing tells a great story and she uses big words to explore a powerful historical event which conveys to young readers that they are smart and capable! While the book covers decades of time, the story line hums along and keeps the reader engaged. This is exactly the type of book I want to read to my grandchildren because it offers an example of the change that one person can bring into the world. I also really loved the illustrations and found them to be a perfect mix of modern and realistic to the timeline of the story.
My 7-year-old did a research paper on Jackie Kennedy and gave a presentation. This was one resource she used to learn more about Jackie's accomplishments. The story of saving Grand Central really piqued my daughter's interest and she ended up talking so much about Jackie for months after. This book was such a hit, she brought it to school to read to her class. As a parent, I appreciate how engaging the writing is, and that it's appropriate for varied age levels, from advanced younger readers through 6th grade.
This is a good book to read to little ones. It teaches about how activism can help save our history or change the course of history. Jackie loved NY and recognized the architural value of Grand Central to all Americans.
My son loves non-fiction and NYC, and this book was the perfect fit. It is extremely well written and very touching. This book offers an example of how people can make a difference in the world, and how important it is to preserve our history. GREAT JOB Natasha Wing!!!

I liked the way this book was written in order for children to understand. They need to develop an understanding of our history and the need to preserve the things that tell of our history. Whether it is a building, a home, furniture or anything else. They also need to understand the hard work sometimes requited to preserve these items.
I love this book. It combines my passion for good architecture with one of my favorite figures from US History. I, too, fight to save historic buildings. Teh artwork is beautiful, and the kids I have read it to also enjoy it.
Any Jackie fan should pick up this book. The illustrations are great and the story is too. Lovely item that arrived just on time and in perfect condition.

Breton has created a group of characters that are funny, committed to causes ranging from domestic violence recovery to the American Revolution to adventure and so much more. The story is full of tension, laughter (out loud for me), love found, and history. I wish I could give this trio of stories a five star review. However, Ms Breton needs a proof reader. Minor mistakes, not frequent, did cause a stop in the reading for me, pulled me out of the tension, humor, and romance. One example was the word "note" for not. I had to stop reading and go back and figure what had happened. And there were enough "typos" that I was irritated by the jolt. However I will be reading more of Ms. Breton because she is a talented writer with a wicked sense of the absurd that fits very well with her characters, their lives, and the romance.
This is set of three full-sized novels themed in time travel, initially to the American Revolutionary War time period, and proceeding on from there, loosely connecting characters from all three books as the stories go along. I thoroughly enjoyed the romp back and forward through time. This is, after all, an escape in fiction and not intended to be a detailed history lesson or necessarily a truly believable escapade. I especially loved the humor that was sprinkled in and the romance was added seasoning. I grant this trilogy 5 stars because, although the depth of the stories is not equal to that of the well-known classics, it is well worth the time invested to read these delightful stories. I do think it will be helpful to read the books in order and not give up if things seem to slow down somewhat in the second volume, because things definitely pick up in the third! I am grateful that Amazon offered this entire trilogy together at no cost for reading on my Kindle, but the price has had no effect on my opinion of this delightful read. I highly recommend it to anyone ready to hang on to the side of a basket and be taken by the wind for an exciting ride through time. Very entertaining -- I loved it!
Why anyone would willingly leave modern plumbing is beyond me, but these women did - for love. They are in the middle of the Revolutionary War, but it's worth it. The third book has a lot of humor, and brought the travelers together. Another "can't-put-it-down" series.
The first book in this series was the best as it dealt with Emilie and Zane's adjustment to life in 1776. Well written and throughly enjoyable. The second book was a disappointment to me because it didn't deal with Andrew's adjustment to life in 1994. The third book was better, although I had a hard time believing that Phoebe's mother could communicate with her across 200 years using ESP. The part about Phoebe and Elizabeth and their budding relationship was well written and heart warming. There is graphic sex in each of these books but I just flip over those pages. All in all, these are good 'time travel books'.
I loved this set of books and was very sad when I reached the end. Very enjoyable reading. Humor, romance, adventure and mystery. A set of books where you are in the story with the characters. I loved all three books- but felt one and three were best. A great set to read if you need cheering up or to relax.
These are three stories of people who time travel back and forth between 1776 and 1993. All three are solid stories, with likeable characters and enough spying intrigue to keep you going. A good collection of stories that are hard to put down.
I had read on ebook previously, and sort of forgot about it, until I started reading, I am so glad I chanced on this 3 book set and got the rest of the story. Although each book is complete on its own I enjoyed having all of them at the same time.
The first chapter started off a bit slow and I almost lost interest but I am so happy I continued reading...... This book took me on an amazing journey with a story told on two different time lines but tying it all in perfectly. I can honestly say I have never read a story quite like this before. The characters are so well described and brought to life on the pages you feel as if you know them. I couldnt put this down and the bonus being a really long book that doesnt fail to please. I am going to look for the other books by this author because her quirky wit and humour and amazing descriptive abilites make her novel an abolute pleasure to read. The only downer was a few typos and grammer mistakes but even that doesn't stop makin this book a pleasure to read
