Great great book. I like the writing style, keep me interested. Lots of information about flashes(learned about the Japanese color display Nissin Di866 Mark II for Nikon, beautiful flash), triggering systems(infrared, radio, etc) Its all about Speedlight Got the Kindle version, just love it.
Excellent basic text on using shoe mounted flash units as studio flashes for portraiture work.One minor negative is that the book generally only covers their use when photographing one person at a time, it would have been interesting to see the author's thoughts on photographing couples and small groups.
I found this book to be amazingly informative. I know that I will be referring to it frequently as I wish to try the methods described. There's a lot here and it is not for the faint of heart. Happy shooting.
There are many, many books available on using speedlights, but this one is different in a good way. The author, having completely embraced and adopted speedlights into his photography business, gives you some useful techniques that will improve your photography quickly. Definitely worth reading.
I got the kindle version.. Its very hard to read and follow. The formatting is like a bad website from 1995!
This is for the photographer focused on creating light through a true understanding of Speedlite​. I'm going to wait a few days, practice and start rereading.
This an excellent, easy to follow guide to using speedlights. It's honest and straightforward, and covers a wide variety of speedlight options and approaches (eg, OEM vs off-brand, TTL vs Manual) including the pros and cons of each. It also covers the classic lighting patterns in an easy to understand manner. An indispensable guide for the aspiring strobist!
A great book. I ordered the Kindle version for my iPad. Very informative and with clear concise instructions to go along with the photo diagrams. A must have for beginning to mid-level photographers who don't have the capitol to purchase those large, expensive light sets.

I was sucked in straight away, this book contained everything I love to read about and more. It had a great plot, progress of story, the charcters and overall feel of the book was amazing, truly. Would recommend ♥ðŸ‘
I love this book. It's even better than the blurb/cover and that's saying something since the blurb sounds awesome and the cover is gorgeous.My favorite thing about this book is definitely the characters. The authors are able to bring them to life perfectly so it's easy to "watch" them move from moment to moment and it's easy to identify with Stasha.My only complaints about the book are minor. For one: I don't think the cover accurately depicts Stasha since we're told multiple times that she's underfed and scrawny to the point of counting her ribs even after her transition. Second: I think the name of the book is misleading. "The Fire Thief" along with the blurb makes it seem like somehow her powers are stolen by her or for her, however the instances of thievery are so tiny that calling her a thief would probably insult Kaz and the Crew at the Crow Club.But honestly, those complaints are minor when compared to the awesomeness of this book. I already can't wait to be able to read Book 2!*I received an ARC of this book from a review group, NOT the author, and my review/rating is honest and entirely my own opinion*
A good series beginner with a great ending that will have you coming back for more. It’s well-written, a real action-packed quick pace read. The sarcastic humor and adventure kept me hooked from the very beginning to end. It has a great plot and characters with some awesome twists, suspense, and mystery. An incredible page-turner that will leave you on the edge of your seat. I love strong take charge heroines and the author gives us that and more. Stasha, growing up as an orphan learned to be a very cunning, brave fighter and a real powerhouse that everyone wishes to use like a weapon. Her unwavering friendship and loyalty to her best friend Klaus interferes with their wishes for her but she will never give up on her best friend even if it means breaking into a prison that no one has ever escaped from dubbed the Death Camp. Stasha’s impatience and pride gets her in a lot of trouble one of which is a bargain she has made with a Tiyanak, creatures known to covet power. Captain Radomir, a lackey for the King of Pyreack, is responsible for her good friend being taken to the prison Angharad. Luckily, she has the help of the handsome powerful fae Prince Averin, a Zephyr, and his sidekicks with additional support from the Princess Boadicea of Ocea. As she sees to the safety of Klaus and her people, they will see to the safety of their greatest hope. I can’t wait to see what happens next.I received a free advanced copy of this book and am leaving my voluntary review.
As always, Gwynn and Erin write a beautifully crafted story. It gripped me from the very beginning and I had a hard time putting it down. I literally didn't put it down until I'd finished it! The characters are bold but caring, fierce when they need to be, gentle and empathetic. It is truly one of the best books I've read in a long time! The heroine,Stasha is a complex personality, struggling to survive in a horrific environment. She is a fiercely loyal friend and will stop at nothing to help those deserving or less fortunate. Gwynn allows her characters to develop, so that I i was drawn in, page by page. I'll be waiting on tinderhooks for the next book! It has all the elements a best seller should, exciting, compelling, endearing as well as a good dose of magic! Highly recommended read
The Fire Thief is book one of The Fire Thief series and has an amazing cover. I became involved in the story almost immediately after reading the first page. It has an engaging plot that moves at a good pace. The characters are very well developed and relatable. Stasha is an orphan that is terribly mistreated as she grew up. She has two friends that she is extremely loyal and fiercely protective of. Being attacked by Elves and one friend is killed and her other friend and herself are put in danger, Stasha comes into her powers which she had no idea she possessed. She now has to learn to use and control them if she is to keep her friend safe. I found this book to be difficult to put down and wanted to keep turning pages to the end. This is a wonderful story and one I highly recommend. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Stasha was an orphan that was mistreated growing up. This made her overprotective of her two friends as she had nothing growing up. When one friend is killed by elves she becomes even more protective of her other one. But when they are put in danger Stasha’s life changes forever. She finds that she has power that comes out of her that she never knew about. As she has to learn how to use it and control it she has to work hard. Will she keep her friend safe as she learns? I was sucked in by this story - some strange cult where you work for everything if you are an orphan, fight for everything, don't have anything valuable on your own.Stasha is a strong female lead. I liked her from the beginning and this was getting stronger and stronger while reading. The story is intriguing as there are different species and in those, there are different factions - that matters a lot here. Stasha has power; yes but what if it's uncontrollable? And she doesn't know anything about it!Power games here were really intriguing with all secondary main characters Alvein and Boa (i loved the way those two were written!This is book one of a really promising fantasy (romance - I hope there will be more in next books) series

I have been in love with the Ramsey and Grant clans forever. Since I discovered my first story. The generations that have come after have legends to follow but these cousins are creating their own legacies.I just finished this story and can't wait for the next. The books are all standalone but you miss out on the delight of the series of you don't read them all.
Reading this series from the very beginning is like watching your own family grow. To see how each son or daughter change & find the path they want to follow. Over coming odds they face, including parents who do not believe in them.I can’t wait for the next book & I certainly hope it’s about Gregor & Conner.
I really like Me Montclair's highland stories but I was hoping this one would be a little bit more intriguing.
I have read the whole series. I read book 5 yesterday and started book 6. I couldn’t put them down. I’ve finished book 6 now it was great. Now I’m looking for book 7. I didn’t think the kids would have as good of stories as their parents did but I was wrong.
Another great book by Mrs. Montclair!! I've loved this series since the beginning with Alex and Maddie and this book did not disappoint! I can't wait to read Gregor and Connor's stories next!

I love these Clans/Families/Friends/Mates, I feel they are all mine. These books are addicting to me, I just can’t get enough. I have read all HR books Keira Montclair has written, and read in order, which gives the advantage of knowing all of the reoccurring characters. They can be read as standalone, but glad I read in order. The book started out exciting, and just kept that way, to a very satisfying end. I didn’t want to put it down. I loved the hero Gavin, Strong, kind, loyal, and loving. The heroine, Merewen, a very strong, brave, loyal, able to take care of herself, but also loving woman. The story is full of Intrigue, adventure, mystery, romance,and some very tender, loving, a little sensuality, but very tender moments. This book has everything to keep you into it, till the end. I highly recommend this book, as I do all this author’s books, and can’t wait to start the next one.

This book is an easy and enjoyable read, which can't be said for too many books written about chemicals and brain science. True to it's subject matter - dopamine - I found myself turning the pages quickly, eagerly anticipating what's next and reading the accompanying stories. It explains why, chemically, we are enamored with online buying, especially those companies that offer one-click and next day delivery (you know who you are), as well as the mind-numbing scrolls through social media feeds. The authors offer the importance of balancing dopamine hits to keep moving forward, and H&N brain chemicals (read the book...) to appreciate "what is." After reading this book I am much more aware of my own dopamine-seeking behaviors and able to consciously decide whether or not to act on them. And for that, I am grateful.

Once I started reading The Molecule of More I couldn’t put it down. I was engrossed. The book is both engaging and informative. The Molecule of More dives into dopamine’s role in human behavior in a comprehensive and captivating manner. Dopamine is a chemical that is never really satisfied. It eagerly waits in anticipation of more. It has little regard for morality, emotions, rationality or how much one already has, subsequently propelling us to chase more…. sometimes for good and sometimes for not so good. If you want to understand how this neurochemical influences our everyday basic behavior or are curious about dopaminergic personality, start with this book. It’s well-written and compelling.
For those of us interested in how our brains produce behavior and how such behavior is mediated by our neurochemistry, this is an excellent guide. It is not too technical nor dumbed down; it strikes a nice balance that the reader can easily follow.The author offers a clear path for navigating our attachment to the hear and now (H & N) while skillfully planning for the future, using the former to provide the fuel (data) for the latter. Understanding the relationship is crucial as we are usually stuck in one realm or the other, failing to benefit from an integrated approach.I would very much like to hear what the author has to say about the origin of our neurochemical endowment. He does broach the subject but perhaps wisely leaves a fuller explication for another time as his main thesis concentrates on the practical application an understanding of the actual process can provide.I love exploring the many facets of our personality, motivation and compulsions. This exploration is an important contribution and the reader will benefit from reading it. It is very well written and follows an intelligent trajectory to bring us closer to an understanding of how we navigate our experience. Highly recommended.

OK, maybe I'm a little too impressed that this auto repair manual is available in hardcover (and at the same price as the paperback.) I was also impressed at the overall build quality of the book itself. It is a solidly bound book that won't fall apart if drops off my workbench. It also has a lot of pages; many, many, many more pages than the cheap Chiltons manual I bought as a teenager for my 78 Rabbit.This service manual also starts off with some background information and overview of the Audi TT. Normally I find this information to be extra fluff that doesn't add any value, but normally I'm using service manuals on a Honda Civic or a Ford Econoline,.. and they are just boring vehicles. The background info on the TT was rather interesting and I'm glad it was included in this manual.I can't speak to the technical aspects yet, as I haven't done much since buying the book. So far I have only performed an oil change and replaced a couple light bulbs. Could I have done those without the manual? Yes; but the manual actually helped with a few little details.Cons:(1) The book includes a chart with engine oil specs for different years and models. For the 2001 model it states 'no specification provided' or something similar. Yet, my original glove box owners manual DOES include specs for the oil grade. This isn't an error, just an oversight/omission. It is obviously a very minor concern, but it does show me that perhaps the book isn't always 100% complete or infallible. (I haven't performed enough maintenance yet to notice anything else.)(2) The price. I paid about $90 which seems like a lot to a cheap old bastard like me. Oh well. I wasn't expecting anything about the TT to be exactly cheap.Overall, I would give this Bentley Audi TT Service Manual 4 1/2 stars.
Very nice hard bound book.It has a lot of photos, but it's still not as good as a real shop manual.It leaves a lot out. But, it's still worth the money.Use it, along with Google searches of Audi Videos and you should be able to solve most Audi problems.Which can be very costly. My Audi TT, 2002, runs fantastic; but it has multiple electrical and computer problems that crop up every day. I'm an electrical engineer and a past Jaguar V-12 mechanic. Even I get frustrated with the lack of reliability of VW products. I didn't have near the problems with my Audi A4 as I've had with the TT. Yet, with Quatro the TT can run rings around most any car on the road, even most corvettes.
What you'd expect from a Bentley service manual - fairly comprehensive.If you are debating the book vs. the "e-version" - GO WITH THE BOOK. The Bentley software is AWFUL. Their copy protection mechanism *NEVER* worked right, and is absolutely abysmal - leading me, the user who PURCHASED the software, holding the bag. I had to call the support line many times and get new 'keys' - after which, finally they told me I could no longer do this. They told me to try it on another laptop - which I did, and had the same issues. Tried it on a desktop - same issues. They kept insisting I was changing my hardware, when this was DEFINITELY not the case. It would work once or twice, then complain about license keys being invalid.So, book version GOOD - software version BAD.
First of all, let me tell the reader that to get to this Bentley Manual, a few turns in the road had to be passed. I purchased a DVD first that would not run on my computer from a different source than Amazon. I turned around and bought another DVD with the same problems. In the meantime, my TT was undergoing repairs and upgrades that I was doing blind with no way to see anything. I had no manual, blueprints, or anything that would help me in any of the operations. This is where the Bentley manual came in. I found one with the right price and to make it even sweeter, it came in hardback. I am no crack mechanic by any means but do a lot of mechanical and body work in house from my garage on all my vehicles. The TT I own is a Quatro 225 AWD and it is complex. Now that I have this manual, the operations that I have done to my TT have been quick, and with the expanded views, I know just how it goes on and off, where all the fastners are and what they are, like it should have been from the start. I would highly recommend this manual to anyone for it is a great tool. My hat is also off to Amazon for their amazing deal, shipping, and packaging. The manual is superb and thanks.
this was just what I needed at a very fair price, hence my title.Having recently purchased a used 2001 TT, I did not have many of the intitial manuals, etc that explain the functionality of the car. I found this manual on Amazon.com for about $30 less than I'd seen it elsewhere and ordered it. I was expecting a used or second rate copy but I was delighted to receive a brand new copy in perfect condition. The book itself is very heavy on electrical diagnostics. It takes up a huge part of it so if you are more interested in the hardware (engine, drive train, etc) other editions may offer a little more. You won't know without comparing them so I suggest trying to find a copy at your local public library first to look at before you purchase. Because I've used Bentley manuals many times, I know their quality to be consistently at or above Hanes or Chilton and I would choose nothing less for a TT.
Fairly complete, for most repairs and trouble shooting. Great for locating and understanding the various systems on the Audi TT. It does not have in depth repair information for the internals of transmission, differential and other items. If, like me, you're used to tearing down every component of a vehicle, it's not going to be enough. If, you need something that tells you step by step, how to remove and replace various components, it'll be fine.

This is a good cookbook for making meals that are fairly simple. The complaint about using exotic ingredients is valid. Like many healthy cookbooks, it uses healthier substitutes for common ingredients, like IMO syrup, various extracts, etc. I don't mind this as it gives me exposure to new items, but you do end up buying a bunch of new things you need to store. Maybe it's a deal with Amazon to keep up sales : ); I can usually find them here.One issue I have, and I hope I can clarify with the author, is what she means by "granulated stevia". I tried using https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B014RQWOG0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1, but it's way too sweet when 1 cup is used in the coleslaw. Either this recipe has an error, or she's specifying something else. 1 cup made the dressing inedible. I don't mix my dressing with the salad until I'm ready to eat it, so I didn't lose the entire salad, but that was a $17 problem as it used about all of the above-mentioned product.Each recipe lists the calories and macronutrients, but it's not always clear what a serving size is. For example, "Creamy Cucumber Salad" says it makes 6 cups, but it never says the serving size is 1 cup. I presume it is, but it'd be nice if the recipes clearly stated serving size and overall quantity of the recipe.I like the recipes, but this book seems to suffer from some 1st-edition problems that I hope are fixed eventually.
This is an excellent book for those looking to burn fat and/or increase muscle mass. I bought it in preparation for my first NPC bikini competition later this year. I've had the book 2 days and already I've made the coconut macaroons and the sloppy Joe's. Both were very easy to make and exceptionally tasty. I was very surprised flipping through this book because I expected another boring diet book. I was so wrong. I have marked several recipes to make in the very near future. I love the way each recipe is marked by goals such as fat burning or muscle building. I hope there is a second edition with more recipes!
This is not just a cookbook, it is a manual. There are so many things I love about this book but here are some to share with anyone who is wondering why should I buy this cookbook when there are so many out there:1. f you are a bodybuilder you don't need anything except maybe a professional to take your anthropomorphic measurements and basically off you go. Everything else you need is in the book!2. if you are not a bodybuilder but a fitness enthusiast who worked hard to lose weight on a very bland diet that is leaving you sometimes drained of energy (and binging on peanut butter at 10pm), and now want to build some muscle, improve your physique and/or maintain it with oh so tasty food, stop here and buy the book.:) You'll love the tastes, and the increase in energy levels!3. if you are a parent too who is trying to eat right and not have to cook two separate dinners this book is going to simplify your life. My entire family eats this food now. Even my six year old son! My daughter is in love with turkey stroganoff and crab cakes, my husband loves stuffed cabbage (our slavic family favorite) and the pot roast...so many more to explore :)I have tried more than few recipes from this book and can't decide which recipe is I love more...well, I am addicted to the pre-workout shakes, especially the blueberry beet one! Man, do I feel amazing working out after one of those! The honey nut is awesome too, and, oh, the power bars....Anyway, this is an honest and straight forward book. No embellishments, just facts, and if you follow the steps you will feel and see the results.Bon Apetit!
I've purchased many bodybuilding cookbooks and they all seem to be the same thing...bake, broil, or grill a chicken breast with some McCormick seasoning poured on them. This is NOT that kind of book. I've eaten about 10 different recipes from her book and every one has been phenomenal! Even my kids love them and they don't even realize they are eating healthy.
Really enjoying the book so far. I love the layout and its straight-to-business nature. However, I'm confused about a few things relating to portion size (1 scoop of my whey protein, for example, appears to be very different from a scoop of whey recommended in the book; telling me in grams may be more helpful). I also don't understand what some of the acronyms at the bottom of the pages mean (D-F, L-C, G-F, P, V). I can guess P means protein and V means vegetarian or something, but I'm not even confident about that, and the book doesn't appear to tell you. Lastly, there are no pictures of any of the completed meals from the recipes. Besides that, solid book that I would recommend and not just for beginners.
For the most part, this is a great book. Easy to follow (And I started off BIG) and the lasagna turned out great. My only "complaints" (and they are not bad) are that some ingredients are a little more difficult to find, and while the author talks negatively about the "fat free" craze of the 80s and 90s, she still uses an awful lot of ow fat and fat free dairy. This is a personal argument between nutritionists/trainers/gym rats but I lean toward *not* cutting all the fat out.Other than those small things, this will be a great addition to my kitchen!
I have been meal planning for three weeks and almost all my meals have come from this bodybuilding cook book. The author did suck a great job to make easy recipes that give you the power and energy all day. I've also noticed that I'm slimming and packing on new muscle.

The information was interesting and very understandable, especially for someone like myself who doesn't know very much about Islam. It did a great job at teaching information as well as showing a different point of view. Though it was a little dry at parts, the book put a lot of information into a small amount of space.
An essential for those interested in understanding the role of women and fiqh.
Very informative book, especially with respect to jurisprudence on the subject.

Somewhat biased but, overall, a well done book on the topic.
Kecia Ali provides an amazingly clear and lucid writing on this very difficult and complex topic.She has a knack for being able to connect the past with the present as it relates to medieval muslim thinking about gender, sex, marriage, divorce, slavery, intimacy and a whole basket of related topics with the ethics related to them.Ms. Ali's other detailed and wonderfully intricate book titled Marriage and Slavery in Early Islam coupled with this book is a perfect introduction to Muslims and non-Muslims alike who want to understand the "structure" and "objectives" of these institutions as they took form and evolved in the minds of the pre-modern/medieval Muslim scholars.Her discussion on this topic is timely and the relevance to today's Muslim scholars, thinkers and policy makers is absolute and is elaborated in a very clear and comprehensive fashion.
This book is amazing! It's hard to say too much about it. The authors clarity and style are so great, she trusts the reader and brings out the moral/legal ambiguities and she lays things out so the reader can draw their own conclusion. Reading this book is like looking at life through a new lens, so much food for thought I marked it up and forced all of my friends tor read it. Those that don't are subjected to a summary of the main arguments anyways. I can't say enough about it!
This is an important contribution to an unknown field in the English speaking world. Most westerners have a negative restrictive view of not only Islam but especially perceive it as sexist and putting its female adherents in a very limiting position (and the pun is somewhat intended).This book will open up for those who wish to understand an approach very different from western norms. It was not a position which this reviewer necessarily was comfortable with but one which explains, and yes this book even critiques, that world which has been closed to us. Our previous exposure was to the 1001 Arabian Nights which like the Kama Sutra is outside the day to day lives of its followers while perhaps titalating for western readers.This is a major contribution to the dialogue which must emerge between our society and Islam.
