I bought this book without reading the preview or reviews because it was an Audrey Faye. For some reason I still struggle with first person present tense when reading, but that did not stop me from reading her shifter story straight through to the end in one sitting. I will probably reread it more slowly in the next few days. All her characters have well developed personalities. The heroes are ordinary and have what others might perceive as flaws, but those flaws become gifts. Audrey Faye, Thank you again for making my heart feel as light and fluffy as the marshmallows the pack fondly eats.
I'm a fan of this author, so was hopeful when she announced a new series. This drew me in quickly with an interesting story and well-drawn characters. This book is now my favorite of hers, and I think is her best work yet. I'm looking forward to more! Thanks for building another community thats makes us think about who we are and how we treat one another.

Shifters of many kinds but no romance and definitely no sex. Anticipate that any romance will be gradual and spread over the series. Many of the characters have to heal before they can grow.A new alpha trying to figure out how to help his inherited pack that has been broken by the previous alpha and his dominants. A coming of age story for the hero. A novel of struggle and rebirth, of forming family bonds new and old. Where to start, how to prioritize the needs and who can be healed or redeemed becomes the focus of this part of the story.An ensemble cast with events progressing mainly through the point of view of the hero Hayden and the heroine Lissa. A few others sneak in toward the end. Quite a few scene stealers.Triggers? Nothing depicted. Definitely mention of a lot of psychological and physical abuse by the late alpha. No talk of rape but many characters have not told their stories yet.I love the author's Fixers of Karma Corp series and, even though this is only book one, the potential for Ghost Mountain Shifters to rival or surpass Fixers is high.Eagerly checking my email for notification of the release of book two.cross posted good reads, amazon, book bub
I love this first story.....I don't know if the author would agree but i find the feeling reminiscent of the witch series that she penned a number of years ago. I have since tried some of her different series, but could never embrace them fully.....until now....I look forward to the next one. My only complaint is that i got nothing done all day, forgoing my work to indulge in reading instead.
Part of this review will only make sense to those of you who knew Audrey Faye in a previous incarnation, but before I get to that, I will just say, “Read this. You won’t be disappointed.â€As an avid reader, I can honestly say that few others have been able to create the sense of community I found in this book. Three shifters out to commune with nature accidentally find themselves in charge of a pack that desperately needs help healing the scars left by the former alpha. Filled with quiet moments and small children who will steal your heart, I would definitely be sure to have the time to finish this in one sitting. Beautifully written. I can’t wait for the second one to be released.For those who know of that other incarnation, I found echoes of Nat and Jamie’s love story, and of that beautiful community that pulled together to embrace even the outcasts, giving them a sense of home and reminding me (the reader) of just how strong those who appear broken truly are.
love Audrey's writing. I've said it many times before but her characters and lyrical narrative are the gold standard for craft in the SFF domain.I laughed and cried and felt such joy in this story. If you've read her Karma Corps novels, you'll feel the same tone and character interaction but in a totally different setting. For these are Weres in a forest, trying to create a pack out of one which has become totally dysfunctional due to a narcissistic, manical alpha who uses fear and torture as leadership tools. What follows is both a study in social dynamics and the consequences of abuse as well as a heart moving lesson in recovery and the impact of love and trust.Highly recommended!
I have enjoyed everything I have read from Audrey Faye, including what she wrote under a previous pen name. Great stories, lots of emotion and characters that you fall in love with.This one had me worried since there are so many supernatural "Shifter" romances out there, and I don't really care for them. But I should have known better! While there is love, and caring... and a lot of adorable characters, it is not one of the "Harlequin Werewolf" romances (as I call them)! Just a good book, written a little differently than usual (first person viewpoints)... and I am looking forward to the next one the series! I would not say this is the best writing she has done, but everything she writes is good... so you can't go wrong with this book either.

Purchased this for my 8 year old grandson who loves basketball and Lebron James. This true story is fun to read and is very inspiring to a child. He always says the last words in the book when he's struggling through something..."NEVER GIVE UP". Great purchase!
I'm not an avid sports fan. I love sports, but I'm not a fanatic. I can't tell you stats about each player or where they grew up. So, when I had the chance to read this book, I said why not? I learned many things about LeBron James that I never knew. And the best part was that it was highlighted by both illustrated drawings and actual pictures from his life. The incorporation of real and fantasy, in terms of the pictures, really got my attention. I felt like it was more than just a book but an actual peak into his life growing up.
Anthony has managed to take the story of LeBron, complete with his difficult journey to the NBA, and make it engaging for a younger audience! The illustrations were adorable and although short, none of the story was spared. This book would be GREAT for LeBron fans or parents who want to encourage their children to continue to push and succeed -- not allowing their current circumstances to determine their fate!Great job, Anthony!
My grandson loved it....big fan of LaBron James. But, it gave him little tidbits of information on LaBron that the other kids didn't know. That is a big deal in the universe of an 8-year-old!

As a parent of an 8 year old I attended numerous open houses at many private and public schools in NYC/NJ. One thing that struck me was that no one at any of those schools ever told me that their goal was to teach kids. Instead they all professed creating future citizens of the world. I asked on many occasions what exactly does this mean, and all I was told that this means to make a child successfully fit in its future role, which ever cubby hole that might be, and feel good about it. I encountered this book after four long years of looking for a school that would simply teach my child and let me raise him. This book clearly pointed out all of the things I already felt were wrong with the picture all along.
This is a difficult book to review1.- He is right, the way people are educated leaves much to be desired.2.- His solution is to destroy the system.3.- He is a failed politician that is consumed with appearances.He doesn't say anything new, and to destroy its much easier than it is to build. Also he uses the traditional marxist analysis without saying that he is one. Speaks of liberty and admires Cuba, situation normal for most intellectuals. Very incomplete and superficial there are other points that he ignores like:a.- Intellectual pursuits are not enjoyed by every one.b.- Education tries to give a liberal education giving information that people otherwise would not pursuit.c.- The personal interactions in school and college are very valuable.d.- Education in the old times was incomplete and inaccessible, a few genius exceptions don't disprove this.e.- The last 50 years have produced more innovations than all periods before.Wish he were more balanced and less angry.Peter

In the past 7 years I have completely changed my way of thinking. It all started in 2011 I went to an Anthony Robbins seminar and he talked about limiting beliefs. I started questioning all my beliefs.... I would ask myself, “why?... why do I believe this to be true?†If the answer was because someone told me it was true then that wasn’t okay for me anymore. I was done being told what to believe I wanted to learn the facts and draw my own conclusion from there. Down the rabbit hole I went, on everything I once believed to be true because someone in authority told me so. The practice of vaccination, cancer treatment, food industry, consumer driven society...corruption, corruption, corruption. Over time I would question... “how do so many people fall for this??†Well... the answers are in this book. I wish I would have started here.
Dense read. But good info. Lots of history of how institutionalized school system was started. Once you start waking up you see the same few players over and over again when it comes to who is behind medicine, schooling, governing. It frustrating and alarming just how deep the deception goes.
This book began to turn my world upside down with regard to my understanding of the history of public education in the US. I came away from it wondering, "How does he KNOW all of this?" This led me to read Gatto's "Magnum Opus", "The Underground History of American Education", which, while a more difficult read, went a long way to explaining how he came to his conclusions.
A must read for anyone who wants to be set free from the limitations imposed by the elites of society. The industrialists, corporations and government conspired to create the perfect proletarian society by depriving the people the ability to think for themselves. This was accomplished through compulsory schooling. 12 years of brainwashing, of indoctrination, of telling you what to think and how to behave, of depriving you of free will ought to make you mad as hell. Reviewed By Erin Nicole Cochran for Readers' FavoriteWhere Is My Little Crocodile? is a charming, fun-filled children's book by author Ingo Blum and illustrated by Antonio Pahetti. The premise is a young crocodile who can't be found and the narrator, who is one of the parents of said little crocodile, is searching for him in a number of places that might be odd to find a crocodile in, but which create a comical atmosphere for old and young alike. Although the book is only twenty-six pages, it does a lot in that small amount of space. Through the illustrations we can get a sense of this world and it feels vivid and colorful. The tone of the narration is very easy to grasp and many children would be able to enjoy it.One of my favorite parts of Where Is My Little Crocodile? by author Ingo Blum and illustrator Antonio Pahetti is the section at the very end where the story book doubles as a coloring book as well. I think that more children's books should double as a coloring book so that people who may not be able to afford many things for their children will be able to have a gift that gets their children to be active in pursuit of art. I feel that this delightful book would be great for all ages and that even adults would enjoy it as well. It calls to mind one of my own favorite childhood books, Are You My Mother? And anything that can remind me of that is a great book indeed!

I lost my original set of the 16 books of this series when I moved to another state. I was heart-broken to say the least. Thanks to the sellers on Amazon I have replaced every book atvery reasonable prices.Thank you Tim LaHaye & Jerry Jenkins for bringing this series to us. I have read several ofyour books in this series at least three times. With each reading one sees more and more andunderstands so much more of what the Gospels are teaching us. I also have their book"Are We Living In End Times"......this book may have been published in 2000... but for the 27 %of the Gospels that we don't spend time to study about...it's astonishing how much of this bookreflects the world today in 2013. A MUST READ ALSO to have in conjunction with the Left Behind Series.
This book from the Left Behind series was a bit draggy compared to the first four. It was still good, but I found Ray a bit out of character, his rage just didn't seem to fit my image of him. Other than thosse two things, the story line was very good and by the end of the book left you wanting more. I'm also getting a bit frustrated with the character Chaim, feel that his obstinance is getting dragged out a bit too long and just doesn't strike me as realistic. However, I loved the visualization of the horses and riders and the destruction they wreak. All in all, a good read, and looking forward to the next in the series.
Having just finished the 6th book in the "Left Behind" series, I thought overall this installment was pretty decent. LaHaye & Jenkins create motives for enough characters to keep you guessing right up to the last page who will be the Antichrist's killer, and even then they leave it with an almost soap opera like cliff hanger.My only beef with this book is something that's just problematic in a serialized novel format:I don't honestly believe the main characters are in danger of dying before the last book. That means a bunch of peripheral characters are brought in for a scene or two, and then die, or are killed. Characters it's hard to have much attachment to.However, I enjoyed this "chapter" in the series much more than the last, and if you're a fan of the book you won't be disappointed.
Assassins starts off slow just like the all the other Left Behind books. I find that the first 200 pages is just filler. The interesting part of the first half, is the rising of the horde of 200 million demonic horsemen. They slay a third of the population which leaves only half of the world's original population. The Tribulation Force tries hard to keep themselves unrevealed to the Global Community as they also have to deal with each other. As Nicolae prepares for a "global party," Rayford is feeling tremendous rage against all the appose the word of God. I went straight through the last 100 pages in a few hours. As Nicloae's party in Jerusalem starts, the book really begins, and it is hard to put down.
This book is certainly as good as the first book Left Behind. You simply can not turn the pages quickly enough during the last 50 pages. Of great concern was that the book was going to end too soon thus leaving the reader feeling taken advantage of - "cliffhanger to make you buy even more books."Fortunately there was enough content in this book to make it enjoyable even though it did turn into a cliffhanger which requires the reader to purchase the next book. It is unfortunate that we must wait another 6, or more, months to read the next in this series.I realize the need to do this since it increases profits - but for those who love this series, myself included, it is a painful wait.I enjoyed seeing more scripture from Revelation in this book and thought the author's views on the middle chapters were insightful.To any that might have been disappointed in book 4, which I was, this will wet your appetite for the series again, as did the 5th book.
The Left Behind series is one of the best I've read in a long time. I am now on book 10, and there aren't too many series that will hold my attention like this. Although in some places the author could have shortened up the scenes, it's still very exciting and hard to put the books down.I read on the Kindle, and the author has nice sub-breaks within the chapters making it easy to say, "I'll read one more section." Before you know it, you are several chapters later.Fun read!
I've read and recommended this series to a number of friends since the first book came out. However, Apollyon and Assassins do not begin to equate in quality with the initial books. I have read other reviews saying the "cash cow" has come into play here and I regret that I must agree. With the upcoming movie of "Left Behind", I felt that the authors were writing Assassins more as a screenplay than a novel. Please Mr. Jenkins and Mr. LaHaye, return to your prior quality writing. The movie rights will take care of themselves as will the screenplay! Leave the "who-dun-it" theatrics out because it just cheapens an otherwise invaluable series of books.
Wonderful continuation in the left behind series. A must read. Start from the Left Behind, No. 1 and make sure to read all the books in the series. They are very enlightening, each time you read them, you will find something that you might have missed in the last reading. I have highlighted all the quotes from the Bible and checked them with my own Bible. Very good
